A Florida woman was arrested for dealing in stolen property and providing false verification of ownership to a pawn broker.
The woman, 29-year-old Dariele Denise Dorsey allegedly pawned an Xbox game console at a GameStop store in Clermont.
A Lake County Sheriff’s Office detective had been investigating the theft of the game console from a rental property in Clermont. The owner of the Xbox had rented a residence in Clermont from Jan. 29 through Feb. 5. When the owner did a walkthrough of the property the owner discovered the Xbox and four television sets had been stolen. The owner provided the detective with the serial number of the Xbox and a photo of a gold Volkswagen which showed a license plate that had been issued to Dorsey.
The detective tracked the Xbox to the Clermont GameStop store and viewed a video which showed Dorsey showing her driver’s license to the store clerk and providing a fingerprint before receiving $136 for the game console.
Dorsey was booked at the Lake County Jail on one count of dealing in stolen property and one count of providing false verification of ownership to a pawnbroker. Bond was set at $7,000.
