Florida Woman Arrested After Allegedly Spraying Hand Sanitizer In A Victim’s Left Eye

A 32-year-old Florida woman was arrested after allegedly spraying hand sanitizer on a victim’s left eye.

On January 15, an Ocala Police Department officer responded to the Town Plaza Motel located at 1110 S Pine Avenue in reference to a male victim being sprayed in the eye with an unknown substance.

The officer arrived and observed a woman, identified as Faith Lavon Snowden, standing outside of her motel room.

Snowden was holding a young child. She stated that the victim had a gambling problem and mentioned that he had cheated on her with other women.

According to Snowden, the victim came home from work, and she asked him to hold the child. She stated that the victim ignored her, ran into the bathroom, and began splashing water on his face.

She again stated that that she asked the victim to hold the child, and he allegedly ran out of the bathroom and toward the front office of the motel. When the victim reached the office, he called law enforcement.

The OPD report indicated that Snowden smelled of alcohol. The officer received permission to look inside her motel room.

The bathtub water was running, and Snowden advised that the victim had left it on when he was splashing water on his face.

The officer observed a bottle of hand sanitizer with a pointed open tip that was on top of the dresser in-between both of the motel room’s beds. Multiple containers of alcohol were also scattered around the room, and the officer noted in the report that the room smelled of alcohol.

After searching the room, the officer met with the victim. He told the officer that he came home from work and went to bed.

Snowden allegedly kept yelling at the victim while he was trying to fall asleep. When he opened his eyes, Snowden was allegedly standing over him with a bottle in her hand.

The victim stated that Snowden began aggressively squeezing the bottle towards him. The substance smelled like alcohol and hit him directly in the left eye.

He told the officer that his eye immediately started burning and swelled shut which is why he ran into the bathroom to splash water on it.

The officer inspected the sanitizer bottle and observed that it appeared to have been squeezed hard as it was crushed and nearly empty.

Snowden denied spraying the victim with anything and she claimed that the victim was lying.

The victim’s left eye was swollen and irritated, and medical personnel on scene advised the victim to seek immediate treatment from an eye doctor.

Snowden was arrested, transported to Marion County Jail, and she was later released on $10,000 bond. She is facing a felony charge for aggravated battery.
