Florida Woman Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Her Boyfriend With A Baseball Bat

A Florida woman was arrested after allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a baseball bat in Leesburg.

Byesha Dorsey, 36, of Orlando, went to her boyfriend’s house in the 2200 block of Simmons Avenue, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

When she knocked on the door, her boyfriend’s mother let her into the residence. The mother told the investigating officer that Dorsey went into her son’s room and closed the door. Shortly thereafter, the mother heard a loud commotion coming from the bedroom. When the mother tried to open the bedroom door, she found it locked. After pounding on the door, the mother saw Dorsey exit the bedroom carrying a black baseball bat. When the mother looked into the room, she saw her son on the floor with blood on his lower lip, chin and chest. The mother grabbed the bat from Dorsey, who ran out of the house.

The man told police he and Dorsey had been romantically involved for one month before the attack. He said that Dorsey, who stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 134 pounds, came into his room and they began to argue. He said that she grabbed a baseball bat and hit him in the face. He fell to the floor and lost consciousness.

Dorsey fled to a friend’s house on Stinson Street where officers took her into custody.

She was transported to the Leesburg Police Department for processing and then booked at the Lake County Jail with bond set at $10,000 for the offense of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.
