Florida Woman Arrested Accused Of Gunning Down Man At Motel

 A Florida woman is accused of gunning down a man at a motel in Greenacres.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Montanez, 35, on a charge of first degree murder with a firearm for fatally shooting 26-year-old Mariano Baca.

Investigators said the shooting happened during an argument in the parking lot of Paul’s Motel, shortly after Baca asked Montanez and her friend to leave.

The motel’s surveillance video captured the shooting, The video, according to the report, showed Baca approach the couple’s car and retreat to the motel after the argument when Montanez appeared with a gun. Montanez then stormed toward Baca and fired the gun from about 5-10 feet away.

According to the arrest report, Montanez said she pulled her gun when Baca rushed toward her. After shooting Baca, she said she put her gun in the car and called 911. She told deputies on scene Baca grabbed her and threatened to shoot up her car.
