Florida Woman Charged With Grand Theft And Burglary After Homeowner Reported Finds Her Asleep In His Car With Knives Stolen From His Cabin

A Florida woman is being charged with grand theft and burglary after a homeowner reported finding her asleep in his car with knives she stole from his cabin.

A Marion County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the 15000 block of 255th Avenue in reference to a burglary after a victim says he woke up in the morning and found a female sleeping inside of his vehicle.

The victim, who has two cabins outside of his main property, says one of the cabins had been opened and items were missing and out of place.

The deputy located 35-year-old Rebecca Guest as well as a brown duffle bag with prescription bottles and three steak knives that matched knives found in the victim’s cabin, according to the sheriff’s report.

After Guest was handcuffed, the deputy located a spoon with a white powdery substance that field tested positive for fentanyl.

Guest was placed in the back of the patrol vehicle and the deputy says she spontaneously stated she would tell him exactly what she took from the victim’s cabin, according to the report.

Guest was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $13,000. She is charged with grand theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and burglary of dwelling.
