A Florida woman is accused of attacking her 101-year-old neighbor in Hallandale Beach.
Susan Bobal, 71, was hitting the victim in the back of the head when another neighbor intervened and stopped the attack, according to statements made in court.
Bobal hit the victim on the back of the head, forced her into a wall and then continued to hit and push her, police said, until the victim was knocked over her walker and onto the floor. She was then kicked in her back.
The victim only speaks Polish, according to the arrest report, and police communicated with her through a Polish-speaking neighbor. The victim complained of back pain but refused medical treatment from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue personnel.
Bobal faces one count of battery on a person 65 or older. She was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. Her bond was set at $5,000.
