A Florida woman was arrested and jailed after deputies say she threatened another driver during a road-rage incident in Marion County.
Sarah Irene Rivera, 22, of Ocala threw an object at the victim’s vehicle, causing damage, before getting out of her car to threaten the victim, who had a child in the vehicle, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.
Rivera left the scene when the victim said he or she was calling law enforcement, but the victim got Rivera’s license plate and photo, allowing deputies to find and arrest her, according to the department.
Rivera was booked shortly before 11 p.m. on charges of assault, weapons offense for throwing the item at the car, and criminal mischief.
Deputies said the incident began after Rivera was passing a slower driver when another car in front of her also passed the driver at the same time.
Rivera was allegedly upset that the other car got in front of her.
“She sped around the victim’s vehicle and began slamming on her brakes while driving in between the two lanes,” the sheriff’s office said.
