A 18-year-old Florida woman was arrested after she was caught on video striking a family member during a fight over a pen.
Cheyenne Lynn Blackman was charged with domestic battery (second or subsequent offense) in connection with the recent incident.
Blackman told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy the victim was using a pen that belonged to her at the kitchen table and wouldn’t give it back. She said the victim hit her hand with a closed fist when she tried to grab the pen, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Blackman’s grandmother, who lives with her, said Blackman became upset when the victim took the pen and started writing on a piece of paper. She said Blackman started striking the victim on his arms using both of her open hands, the report said.
The victim said Blackman also struck him in the face prior to the initial pen incident. He showed the deputy video from inside the home that showed Blackman striking him on his arms while he was writing. Another video from inside the kitchen showed Blackman slapping the victim in his face using her open hand. The victim told the deputy he wasn’t injured in the incident, according to the report.
After being read her Miranda warning, Blackman admitted to striking the victim, but she didn’t say how many times she hit him. She’s being held on $500 bond.
