A Florida teenager was jailed recently after being accused of smashing a tuna fish sandwich on top of an elderly woman’s head.
The victim said she and 18-year-old Trissie Haleigh Rose Billups got into an argument when she told Billups she needed to get medication for her dog. She said Billups became upset and began to yell at her. She admitted to making a statement about Billup’s deceased mother, which resulted in the sandwich being smashed onto the top of her head, a sheriff’s office report states.
After being read her rights, Billups initially denied having an argument with the victim but then admitted there was a verbal altercation over her dog and medication. But she denied all allegations of the battery, the report says.
Billups was placed under arrest and became verbal with deputies. She “tensed up” and attempted to pull away in a “forceful manner,” the report says.
Billups was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with domestic aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older and resisting without violence. She was released on $3,000 bond.
