A Florida woman was arrested after she admitted throwing a pizza pan at a man during an argument.
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy he and 59-year-old Julie Anne McDanal were talking outside on March 15 when she became irate and asked him to leave. He said when they were back inside, he told her if she wanted him to leave, she would have to call the police and do it the right way, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The victim said McDanal then threw a pizza pan at his head, causing a small laceration over his left eye. The deputy observed the injury, as well as a yellow pizza pan on the floor near the bed the victim said he was sitting on when McDanal threw it. The pizza pan did not appear to be a deadly weapon capable of causing great bodily harm, the report said.
McDanal told the deputy she and the victim had been arguing all day. She said she had been telling him to leave all day and he continued to insult her. McDanal said the latest argument started outside and continued inside the residence, according to the report.
McDanal admitted to throwing the pizza pan. She said she threw it in the victim’s lap and he moved his hands upward, causing it to strike his head, the report said.
McDanal was charged with simple battery and taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released the next day on her own recognizance.
