A Florida woman was jailed recently after her elderly man friend claimed she slapped him on both sides of his head and punched him in the teeth after they had been drinking.
The victim, who is 65 years of age or older, told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that 49-year-old Stacy Michelle Moran thought he was accusing her of stealing from him. He said she became upset and they continued to argue until she attacked him, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that deputies noted two small scratch marks on the victim’s lips.
Moran said the victim was angry all day due to his son having relationship issues. She claimed she and the victim only had a verbal altercation and it didn’t become physical, the report says.
Moran also told deputies that the victim fell earlier in the day and his son helped him up. She then changed her story and said the victim got up on his own and she told his son about the incident. She also said they had a verbal altercation because the victim had accused her of stealing $200, according to the report.
The victim’s son said Moran told him his father had fallen earlier in the day. He said his father denied falling and he didn’t have any marks on him when he left the residence earlier in the day, the report says.
Moran was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older. She is being held on $2,500 bond.
