A Florida woman was arrested after she reportedly scratched a man’s neck while trying to keep him from leaving her.
Dilshad Louise Velez, 26, of NW 57th Court, was charged with simple battery after the incident.
The victim said there had been an argument over other people trying to “add” Velez on social media. He said he became upset during the argument and decided he wanted to leave the residence. The victim said he was packing his suitcase and trying to leave when Velez scratched him on the neck while trying to get him to stay, the report said.
The deputy observed what appeared to be scratch marks on the victim’s neck that appeared to be caused recently, according to the report.
The deputy spoke with Velez again and read her Miranda warnings. This time, she admitted there had been a physical aspect to the incident and it was not just verbal as she had said earlier. Velez said when the victim was packing his suitcase and trying to leave, she tried to grab it away from him and there was some shoving between the two of them, the report said.
Velez was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released on $500 bond.
