82-Year-Old Florida Woman Accused Of Running Red Light And Leaving The Scene Of Crash, Then Hitting Arresting Deputy On Top Of The Head With Clipboard Before Being Arrested

A 82-year-old Florida woman driving a Bentley is accused of running a red light and then leaving the scene of a crash in East Naples, officials said.

Etta Nicewonder is a part-time resident of Naples, but also lives in Virginia. She is accused of running a red light on Airport Pulling Road in her Black Bentley and hitting a Blue Kia, deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

Nicewonder left the scene of the crash and the driver of the Kia told deputies that they followed her for several miles while on the phone with 911. The Kia driver eventually stopped following Nicewonder to file a report with CCSO. They said the Kia was a rental car that wasn’t damaged before the crash.

A CCSO deputy was able to find Nicewonder and pulled her over. The deputy asked her to fill out a statement about the crash, but Nicewonder became uncooperative and refused to complete the report.

Nicewonder hit the deputy that pulled her over on the top of their head with a clipboard, according to an arrest report. The deputy then placed her under arrest.

She faces a hit and run charge.
