A Florida woman was arrested after crashing into a Charlotte County school bus and leaving the scene.
Kelly Atkinson, 49, was arrested after crashing her Chevy Camaro into a school bus around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Edgewater Drive and Gardner Drive in Port Charlotte, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies found Atkinson a short time later inside of her car in the parking lot of the Super Matt at 4007 Tamiami Trail and asked about apparent damage to her Camaro.
The 49-year-old responded “what damage?” according to the arrest report and deputies said they saw a bottle of alcohol on the floorboard of the driver’s side.
Atkinson failed multiple field sobriety tests and recorded a .282 BAC level, deputies said.
She is facing charges of DUI and leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage.
