A Florida woman driving drunk with two kids and one teenager in the car was arrested after she hit a median on Hancock Bridge Parkway, officials said.
Shadira Aguiler, 33, was charged with driving under the influence, having a blood alcohol content greater than 0.15 and having two kids in the car, driving with a license that expired over six months ago, and driving with a suspended license, according to an arrest report from the Cape Coral Police Department.
Another driver called the Cape Coral Police Department to report a reckless driver in a 2021 Jeep Compass. The tipster said the driver was heading west down Hancock Bridge Parkway towards Del Prado Boulevard and crashed into a median curb.
When officers arrived at the scene of the crash, Aguiler stumbled up to an officer, started to slur nonsense, and fell into one of the reporting officers.
An officer walked up to the Jeep to talk with the two kids and young adult that were in the car during the crash. They told the officer that Augiler was taking shots of tequila at the nail salon.
A routine check of Aguiler came back with multiple suspensions on her license and she was labeled as a “habitual offender.” She did have a Florida ID card but did not have a driver’s license.
Aguiler failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI, officers said. She provided two different breath samples which came back as 0.207 and 0.200.
