A Florida woman is charged with not reporting alleged abuse that left a 5-year-old girl dead.

Ebony Russell, 36, was arrested in Sanford.

Officials with the Sanford Police Department said officer were called in July to Central Florida Regional to investigate a young girl’s death.

Detectives said Russell is the alleged abuser’s girlfriend.

Her boyfriend hasn’t been arrested, but the case is still being investigated.
