Florida Woman Arrested For Allegedly Punching Man In The Eye For Opening Door Too Fast

A Florida woman struggled with deputies handcuffing her after she was arrested for allegedly punching a man in the eye.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that about a week ago, when 36-year-old Gina Leigh Plumley, of NW 21st Court, came home from being out, he went to open the door for her and she punched him in the right side of his eye. He said Plumley was upset with how fast he opened the door, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The deputy was able to see a mark consistent with the victim’s statement of where Plumley hit him. The deputy spoke with Plumley, who said she didn’t know what the deputy was talking about and denied hitting the victim, the report said.

Plumley pulled away from deputies as they tried to handcuff her and she kicked at them as they tried to place her in the patrol vehicle. She was charged with simple battery and resisting arrest without violence. Plumley was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was being held on $1,500 bond.
