A Florida woman was arrested after she admitted to battering a pregnant woman because she wouldn’t stop running a blanket through the family dryer.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence on NE 120th Avenue, where a man reported that his pregnant girlfriend told him she was pushed to the ground twice by 50-year-old Robyn Paige Olson. The reporting party said he wasn’t present during the incident and that Olson knows the victim is pregnant, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The victim said she was trying to dry a blanket in the family dryer, she was approached and asked by Olson to turn off the dryer, due to her thinking the blanket would ruin the dryer. The victim said she was unable to hang the blanket outside due to the rain and she assured Olson it wouldn’t ruin the dryer, the report said.
The victim said when she turned the dryer back on, Olson shoved past her and unplugged it. The victim said when she went to plug it back in, Olson got in her face, grabbed her by both arms and shoved her to the ground, according to the report.
The victim said Olson’s boyfriend had to forcibly pull Olson off her. She said she is six months pregnant and that Olson is well aware of it. The deputy observed the victim to be noticeably pregnant but did not see any injuries. Olson’s boyfriend said he saw her push the victim to the ground but would not provide a written statement, the report said.
After being read her Miranda warning, Olson admitted she did push the victim because she refused to listen to her about the family dryer. She said she knew what she did was wrong, and she admitted she knew the victim was pregnant, according to the report.
Olson was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released on $1,000 bond.
