A Florida woman was jailed after a nasty battle with her man friend over a Black & Mild cigar.
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a location on S. Pine Avenue in connection with a battery that had taken place earlier. The deputy spoke with 21-year-old Demiya Danzenae Simpkins, who said earlier in the day she and the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation.
Simpkins admitted that the argument turned physical when the victim wouldn’t allow her to grab the cigar. She allegedly struck the victim in the head with a plastic bag containing clothing and left the location, the report says.
The victim told the deputy that Simpkins became violent and started punching his body and his head. He said she eventually struck him in the head with a black garbage bag containing clothing. He added that Simpkins struck him “out of anger in a malicious manner,” the report says.
Simpkins was charged with domestic battery (dating violence). She was released on $100 bond.
